DRUMMER JUSTICE MICHAEL
Well-known for his first place wins at Amateur Night at the Apollo in NYC, Justice (aka Just Ice) has quickly evolved from Atlanta’s young drumming sensation to a seasoned and sought after player in an ELITE Atlanta music scene. Not only is Justice an INCREDIBLE drummer, but he is also an AMAZING keyboardist, as well as a songwriter, producer and band leader.
Justice and his ensemble, Anonymous DaBand, has shared the stage and opened shows for jazz superstars such as Najee, Chrisette Michele, Pieces of a Dream, Bobby Caldwell, Lalah Hathaway and many more. With his growing experience, Justice is fast becoming renowned in the drumming industry nationally and internationally. Justice brings some deep-rooted, complex, and awe-inspiring beats to the stage. He is an endorsed artist for Amedia Cymbals, Prentice Practice Pads, and Agner Drumsticks. |
FRIDAY, JULY 1ST
BASSIST TEJA VEAL
Equal parts Verdine White (EWF), James Jamerson (Motown) and Marcus Miller (Legendary Jazz player) – all wrapped up in a sweetly soulful voice (think Corrine Bailey-Rae meets Gretchen Parlato), there’s no one way to define Téja’s sound. “I want to be relatable to everyone that happens to listen”.
Big-band jazz-bred and “old-school soul” at heart, the Miami-native is open to all forms of music. “If I can feel it, I can play it!” she quips. It’s this willingness to embrace all styles that have afforded Téja chances to play with artists of several genres, both on the local and industry levels. Téja started “gigging” around town when she was 16, and has been performing ever since. “I don’t like name-dropping – that’s what resumes are for” she muses, when asked who she’s worked with. “I’ll just say that I’m grateful to God for every opportunity He’s given me to perform, both great and small!” We'll say she has toured with Musiq Soulchild and Janelle Monet. Ladies and gentlemen ... TEJA VEAL! |
